What Is Two-Way SMS?
NextKick provides a built-in messaging feature that allows school owners and staff to send messages to students and parents. However, the standard messaging feature supports one-way communication only, meaning recipients cannot reply directly to the messages they receive.
To enable two-way communication, schools must subscribe to the Two-Way SMS Add-on Service.
With Two-Way SMS enabled, school owners and staff can both send and receive text messages, allowing students and parents to reply directly and have conversations through NextKick.
Important: Two-Way SMS is not included in the standard NextKick messaging feature. It is an optional paid add-on service that must be activated separately to enable two-way communication.
Two-Way SMS Pricing
Monthly Subscription: $9.99/month
Phone Number: A dedicated phone number is included in the monthly subscription.
SMS Credits: SMS credits are managed separately from the monthly subscription.
Credit Usage: Each SMS message sent deducts 1 SMS credit from your available balance.
Note: The $9.99 monthly subscription covers the dedicated phone number. Additional SMS credits can be purchased separately as needed.
Free SMS Credits for New Schools
Every school receives 1,000 free SMS credits when signing up for NextKick.
These complimentary credits allow schools to start sending SMS messages without purchasing additional credits immediately.
Each SMS message sent uses 1 SMS credit. Once the available credits have been used, schools can purchase additional credits to continue sending messages.
Please note: The 1,000 free SMS credits are provided as part of the standard NextKick signup and do not automatically activate the Two-Way SMS feature. A separate Two-Way SMS subscription is required to enable two-way communication.
How to Purchase SMS Credits
Schools can purchase additional SMS credits directly through their NextKick Admin account.
Follow these steps:
Log in to your NextKick Admin account.
Navigate to Settings → Communication from the left sidebar.
Locate the SMS Credit Management section.
Click the Buy Credit button.
Review the available SMS credit packages and pricing.
Select your preferred credit package and complete the purchase.

1,000 credits: $49 (regularly $69)
3,000 credits: $129 (regularly $149)
6,000 credits: $209 (regularly $239)

How to Apply for Two-Way SMS
Follow these steps to apply for the Two-Way SMS feature:
Log in to your NextKick Admin account.
Navigate to Settings → Communication from the left sidebar.
Locate the SMS Sender Verification section.
Complete and submit the application for Two-Way SMS.
Once your application is submitted, it will go through a verification process before the feature can be activated.
