The Front desk kiosk settings, in Settings → System & Security → Check-in, control what your front desk tablet or kiosk screen shows and how it behaves. These settings apply to the kiosk and the check-in screen only. The section also has Automated check-in messages (pop-ups triggered by conditions such as attendance count), Confirmation stays on screen (how long the check-in confirmation shows), and Face Recognition Consent.
Can I use a USB QR code scanner?
Yes. A USB QR code scanner works with the kiosk on a computer, laptop or tablet. Connect the scanner and make sure Use QR code scanner is turned on under Front desk kiosk.
Members then scan the QR code on their QR code label or membership card. To print them for everyone, see Step 7 of How to Move Your Existing Students into NextKick.
How do I turn off the QR code scanner at the front desk?
Turn off Use QR code scanner under Front desk kiosk.
When this is off, a connected scanner won't respond at the kiosk. Members will need to check in another way, such as tapping their name on the screen or checking in from the student app.
How do I hide membership information on the check-in screen?
Turn on Hide membership info under Front desk kiosk.
This hides the membership plan a member is on when they reach the check-in confirmation screen, so other members waiting nearby can't see it.
How do I hide a member's membership expiration date at check-in?
Turn on Hide membership expiration date under Front desk kiosk.
This hides the expiration date on the check-in confirmation screen. Use this if you don't want expiration dates visible to whoever is standing near the kiosk.
Can staff still check in a member who has reached their weekly or monthly limit?
Yes, if Allow override when a limit is reached is turned on under Front desk kiosk. This is on by default.
With this on, a Force Check-in button appears at the kiosk when a member has used up their weekly or monthly attendance limit. Staff can tap it to check the member in anyway.
This does not apply to memberships sold by class credits. Credit-based memberships are limited by the number of credits purchased, and there is no way to check a member in once their credits have run out. To let them keep attending, add credits to their membership instead.
