Edit a Membership's Autopay Billing Schedule

Change a member's autopay amount, tax, convenience fee, frequency, next payment date or number of payments.

Written by Ben Ryoo

You can change the autopay details on any membership that has autopay set up. For example, you can apply a sibling discount, move a member's payment date, add more payments, or adjust their convenience fee.

How to edit a billing schedule

  1. Go to Accounts → Profiles and select the student

  2. Open the Membership tab

  3. Find the membership with autopay and click Actions → Edit billing schedule

  4. Update the fields you want to change

  5. Click Save changes

Changes apply to future payments. Payments that have already been made aren't affected.

What it does

Autopay Amount ($)

Tax (%)

Tax added to each payment. Enter 0 if you don't charge tax.

Convenience fee (%)

Autopay frequency and unit

How often autopay charges, in Weeks or Months

Autopay date

The date of the next charge (shown as Next autopay date under Billing Information)

Autopay Installment Count

How the amount is calculated

Tax and convenience fee are added on top of the Autopay Amount.

Example: Autopay Amount $150, Tax 0%, Convenience fee 3%. The member is charged $154.50 per payment.

Common questions

How do I give a student a sibling discount?
Open their membership, click Actions → Edit billing schedule, lower the Autopay Amount, and click Save changes.

How do I change the day a member is charged?
Set the Autopay date to the new date for the next charge. Later payments follow the frequency from that date.

How do I add or remove payments?
Change the Autopay Installment Count. It's the number of payments left, not the total. For example, if 4 of 12 payments have been billed, the field shows 8. To add 3 more payments, change 8 to 11. The plan then has 15 payments in total. The count must be at least 1.

I changed the convenience fee in Settings. Why didn't this membership change?
A rate change in Settings only applies to new memberships. To update an existing one, change Convenience fee (%) here.

Can members see the memo?
No. The memo is only visible to admins.
