How to Add Content to the Learning Center

Post videos, images and files to the Learning Center so students can review them in the NextKick app.

Written by Ben Ryoo

The Learning Center is your school's video and study library. Students and parents open it in the NextKick app to review techniques, poomsae, curriculum and other material. This guide shows how to create a post, add videos and files, and choose who can see it.

Before you start

  • The Learning Center is included in the Pro plan.

  • Upload your videos to YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo first. Posts use video links, not uploaded video files.

  • To show a post to one rank only, set up your ranks first. See How do I set up a Rank System?

Step 1: Open the Learning Center

  1. Go to Learning Center → Learning Centers.

  2. You'll see all of your posts with their Title, Create date and Status.

  3. Click + Add to start a new post.

Tip: Drag the handle (⠗) on the left of any post to change the order of your posts. Students see them in the same order in the app.

Step 2: Add a title and contents

  1. Enter a Title. This is required.

  2. Add a description in Contents (optional). The editor supports bold text, lists, links and images.

Step 3: Add images and files

Under Attachments, add any of the following:

Field

What it's for

Limit

Thumbnail

The cover image for the post

1 image, 10MB

Image Attachments

Photos or diagrams shown in the post

5 images, 10MB each

Attached File

Documents students can open, such as a curriculum PDF

5 files, 10MB each (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .xls, .xlsx)

Click the box to choose a file, or drag and drop it.

Step 4: Add videos

You can add YouTube, Google Drive and Vimeo videos to the same post.

YouTube or Google Drive

  1. Paste the video link in the Video field.

  2. Click Preview to add it.

  3. Repeat for more videos. Drag videos to change their order.

Vimeo

  1. Paste the link in the Vimeo field.

  2. Click Preview to add it.

Tip: For Google Drive videos, set sharing to Anyone with the link, or students won't be able to play them. Google Drive videos can't play full screen on phones, so use YouTube when full screen matters.

Step 5: Choose who can see the post

Under Permissions & Status:

  1. Leave Status turned on to make the post active and visible as soon as you save it. Turn it off to save the post without showing it to students.

  2. Under View Permissions, choose one option:

Option

Who sees the post

All

All members

Group

Members in the group you select

Program

Members in the program you select.

Rank System

Members at the exact rank you select. Students at other ranks won't see it.

Tag

Members with the tags you select

Step 6: Save the post

Click Create. The post appears in your Learning Center list, and students who have permission can see it in the app right away.

Step 7 (optional): Notify students about new posts

NextKick doesn't send a notification automatically when you add a post. To let students know:

  1. Go to Marketing Tools → Automations.

  2. Create an automation with the trigger New Learning Center Post Available.

  3. Choose how to notify students, such as a push notification or email.

FAQ

Can I upload a video file directly? No. Upload the video to YouTube, Google Drive or Vimeo, then paste the link into the post.

A student says they can't see a post. What should I check? Make sure the post's Status is on and the student matches the View Permissions. If you chose Rank System, only students at that exact rank can see it.

Can I hide a post without deleting it? Yes. Open the post and turn off Status.

Will students get a notification when I add a post? Only if you set up an automation. See Step 7.
