Closing for Thanksgiving, or need a substitute for tonight's class? This guide shows how to add closed days for holidays and breaks, and how to change or cancel a single class without touching the rest of your schedule.
Before you start
Set up your classes and schedules first. See How to Set Up Your Class Schedule.
Step 1: Add a closed day or break
Go to Settings → Schedule.
Next to Manage Closed Days, click Manage.
Click Add.
Choose the Start Date and End Date. For a single day, choose the same date for both.
Enter a Reason, such as "Thanksgiving break". Students see this reason on the schedule detail screen in the app.
Click Save.
Classes on those days show a Closed Day label in the student app, both in the schedule list and on the class details.
Closed days don't change billing or attendance limits.
Tip: Add your holidays for the whole year at once, so families can see them in the app ahead of time.
Step 2: Find the class you want to change
Go to Schedule → Schedule List.
Set the date range to the day of the class.
Click the menu button at the end of the class's row.
Option | What it does |
Share Scheduling Link | Copies a link to this class that you can send to families |
Edit This Class | Changes only this one class. The rest of the schedule stays the same. |
Edit Recurring Schedule | Changes the recurring schedule, such as the time or instructor every week |
Cancel Class | Cancels this class, or this class and all future ones. Cancelled classes stay on the list, marked as cancelled. |
Delete Class | Removes the class completely. It no longer appears on the list. |
Step 3: Change one class
Click Edit This Class, change what you need, then click Save. You can change:
Start Time and Duration
Instructor, for example when a substitute is teaching
Class Capacity
Allow Reservations
Visible to Students: turn it off to hide this class from the app's schedule list. Students who already registered still see it in My Schedule.
The Class Date can't be changed here. To move a class to another day, see the FAQ below.
Step 4: Cancel a class
In Schedule → Schedule List, click the menu button at the end of the class's row.
Click Cancel Class.
Choose This schedule only to cancel just this class, or This and all future schedules to cancel this class and every one after it.
Click Confirm.
The cancelled class stays on the list, marked as cancelled. If you want it gone from the list completely, use Delete Class instead.
Let members know
NextKick can notify members by email and in the app when a class is cancelled or its time changes. To turn these on or off, go to Settings → Schedule → Notification & Integration and look under Schedule Notifications:
Schedule Cancellation
Schedule Time Changed
Class Removed from Schedule
For holidays, you can also post an announcement. See How to Post Announcements.

How do I change the time of a class every week from now on?
Use Edit Recurring Schedule instead of Edit This Class.
Can I hide one class from the app without cancelling it?
Yes. In Edit This Class, turn off Visible to Students.
