How to Use Reports in NextKick

Track revenue and members in Insights, export detailed reports, forecast membership payments and see where your students live on a map.

Written by Ben Ryoo

The Reports menu shows how your school is doing. This guide explains its four pages: Insights for charts and key numbers, Reports for detailed lists you can export, Revenue Projection for upcoming membership payments, and Student Map for where your students live.

Before you start

  • Reports is included in every NextKick plan.

  • You need access to Reports. Owners always have it. Staff need it turned on in their Access Control. See Staff Permissions: What Each Access Control Setting Covers.

  • Reports are built from the payments, memberships, attendance and member profiles already in NextKick. The more complete your records, the more useful the numbers.

Step 1: Open Insights

  1. In the left sidebar, click Reports → Insights.

  2. Choose a tab: Business, Member, Finance or Memberships.

Step 2: Choose the dates to compare

  1. Click the date range box. It shows This Month by default.

  2. Choose This Month, Last Month, This Year, Last Year or Custom Range. For a custom range, pick the From and To dates.

  3. Click Apply.

  4. Click Compare to and choose Previous period, Previous year or No comparison. Then click Apply.

Each number shows how much it changed against the comparison period, marked vs. comp. period. An up arrow (↑) means it went up, and a down arrow (↓) means it went down. In the charts, blue is your selected dates and gray is the comparison.

Tip: Hover over the info icon (ⓘ) next to any card to see exactly what it counts.

FAQ

Why is the overdue amount different in Insights and Revenue Projection?

Total Overdue in Insights counts every unpaid invoice past its due date. Overdue Amount in Revenue Projection counts only membership charges on active memberships, so it's usually lower.

How up to date are the numbers in Insights?

The note next to the date range, such as Data from 1 min ago, shows when the numbers were last updated.

Can I download Insights?

Insights doesn't have an export button. To download the details, open a report on the Reports page and click Export.

Why isn't a member on the Student Map?

Their address is missing, or it couldn't be found on the map. Check the address on their profile.

Can my staff see Reports?

Only if their Access Control allows it. To hide revenue from staff, set Reports and Home → Revenues to No Access. See Staff Permissions: What Each Access Control Setting Covers.
